In Matthew 25:1–13, Jesus tells the parable of ten bridesmaids waiting for the bridegroom. Five were prepared. Five were not. When the unexpected announcement came—“Here’s the bridegroom!”—there was no longer time to get ready.
Like first responders who prepare before the alarm sounds, followers of Jesus must live ready before the decisive moment arrives. Good intentions are not enough. The time to prepare is now.
But Christian readiness is not an anxious attempt to earn God’s acceptance. It is the faithful response of those who have been redeemed, forgiven, and made His own.
The greatest question is not simply, “Do I know about Jesus?” It is, “Does Jesus know me?”

Matthew 25:1-13 Are You Ready?

In this message, “The Unchanging God,” Amir Tsarfati examines the faithfulness of God, His enduring promises to Israel, and His prophetic plan for the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.
The character of God is the foundation of our confidence in His promises. God does not change, He cannot lie, and He never abandons His covenant commitments. What He promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob still stands. Although Israel has experienced unbelief, discipline, dispersion, persecution, and suffering, God has not rejected His people or transferred His promises to someone else.
The modern restoration of Israel is a powerful reminder that God is faithfully directing history according to His prophetic Word. The Jewish people have returned to their ancestral homeland, the nation has been re-established, and Jerusalem once again occupies a central place in world events. These developments point to God’s continuing purposes for Israel and the future fulfilment of biblical prophecy.
This message also confronts the serious theological error of replacement theology—the belief that the Church has permanently replaced Israel and inherited all the promises originally given to the Jewish people. While Jews and Gentiles who believe in Jesus are united as one body in Christ, Scripture continues to distinguish between God’s purposes for the Church and His national and prophetic promises to Israel.
Romans 11 makes this unmistakably clear: God has not cast away His people. Israel’s present spiritual blindness is partial and temporary, and a future day of national salvation is coming. God’s faithfulness to Israel is not only an issue of biblical prophecy; it reveals something essential about His character. If God could permanently abandon His unconditional promises to Israel, what confidence could believers have that He will keep His promises to us?
The hope of every believer rests in this glorious truth: our God does not change. His Word remains true, His covenants remain secure, and His purposes cannot be defeated. The same God who will faithfully fulfil every promise made to Israel will faithfully complete the work He has begun in everyone who belongs to Jesus Christ.
